The Association of Food Ingredients and Additives Manufacturers (GIDABİL), brings together under one roof manufacturers in Turkey’s food industry who produce food additives, additive blends, processing aids, flavors, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, yeasts, and other auxiliary materials used in processed food production, as well as the companies, partnerships, or authorized representatives in Turkey of manufacturers operating in the same or similar fields abroad. The Association aims to foster professional solidarity, mutual assistance, and cooperation among its members; strengthen the exchange of information; and raise awareness regarding the recognition and proper use of these products by maintaining communication with users and end consumers.
In line with these objectives, GIDABİL was established in October 2000 through the initiative of 11 founding members representing eight separate companies.
Since its establishment, our association has operated for many years under the name Association of Food Additives and Auxiliary Materials Manufacturers (GIDAKAT); as of November 2016, it adopted the name Association of Food Ingredients and Developers Manufacturers (GIDABİL), which more comprehensively reflects the scope of its members’ activities. This name change was approved unanimously at the general assembly.
GIDABİL, which currently operates with 46 members comprising representatives from 41 companies, has made compliance with legal requirements under food regulations a top priority since its establishment. Within this framework, our association is committed to working in harmony and solidarity with relevant public institutions and organizations, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Ministry of Health. GIDABİL plays an active role in the preparation and amendment of regulations and also initiates actions with relevant authorities to combat companies engaged in illegal production and to resolve financial issues affecting the sector.
